A Wild Escape at the Zoo du Bois d’Attilly
This iconic zoo in Seine-et-Marne has stood the test of time! Located just 1 hour and 18 minutes (72 km) from our campsite near Fontainebleau, it has preserved its authentic charm. Roam across its 20 hectares, home to 500 animals from over 100 species. You’ll encounter big cats, hippos, monkeys, wolves, reptiles, giraffes… It’s a real safari just a stone’s throw from Paris!
Enjoy guided tours to learn more about the animals, feeding sessions to observe them up close, and special encounters with the keepers.
The shady paths are perfect for strolling, and visitors rave about the experience:

A Journey to the Amazon at Parrot World

Just 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 km) from our campsite, it offers a deep dive into South American biodiversity. One of its highlights? A massive 10,000 m² aviary housing over 4,000 parrots—an unforgettable spectacle!
But the park has even more to offer: jaguars, penguins, and even a giant Amazonian otter await. Educational programs are both fun and enriching. Children can even become a “junior zookeeper” for the day, and guests of all ages can take part in the penguin feeding.
Parrot World also comes alive during special events like the Amazonian Summer, Dia de los Muertos, and the Rio Carnival.

Big Cats Sanctuary at Lumigny Safari Reserve
Located in Lumigny, this park is far more than a zoo—it’s an expansive nature reserve just 1 hour and 15 minutes (70 km) from our campsite.
Spread across 92 hectares, over 600 animals live here, including rare species like the maned wolf, polar bear, and black lemur. Did you know? This park boasts the largest variety of big cats in the world. Siberian tigers, snow leopards, and black jaguars reign supreme at Lumigny Safari Reserve.
What makes this park especially remarkable is its design focused on animal well-being. Numerous observation decks, viewing points, and walkways allow you to get close without disturbing the animals.
And the activities? Just as impressive as the wildlife! Stroll along nature trails, hop aboard the safari train, enjoy a 3D film, or visit the petting farm. Several food and drink options are also available on-site.

A Family Day Out at Parc Hi-han
Looking for a family-friendly animal park in Seine-et-Marne? Parc Hi-han, open since 1996, is a charming choice. Smaller and more low-key than the major parks, it offers just as much warmth and joy.
Located 1 hour and 25 minutes (90 km) from our campsite, it’s the perfect spot for a day out with young children. Here, farm animals take center stage. At the entrance, you’ll be given a small bucket of salad and carrots to feed directly to the donkeys, ponies, goats, and sheep—a unique bonding experience!
Visitors often remark on how well cared-for and happy the animals seem, and how welcoming and relaxing the park atmosphere is.
